Top 5: Tips to Getting a Great Interview

Interviewing people–especially people who get interviewed a lot–can be both challenging and nervewracking. For interviews people will listen to (or that will become written Q and As)  it’s hard to find the balance between asking questions and connecting in a conversation. When you’re interviewing for print, it’s easy to focus too much on what you expect the person to say and not hear the places where you’re going to wish, later, that you’d followed up. We had Celeste Headlee, NPR journalist and therefore an interviewer extraordinaire, on the pod recently [LINK], and she dropped a bunch of gems that we don’t want to forget.
